Paul began playing golf at Sundridge Park GC at the age of 5. After a successful amateur career where he won the DHL Classic at West Malling Golf Club in 1994 and Kent under 16 championship in 1996 and 1997.
After finishing 2nd at Milford Golf Club in his PGA playing ability test in 1999, when onto completing his PGA Qualification in 2004.
Paul decided to play local and regional golf tournaments, where he came 1st in the Esher Golf Club Pro Am in 2005 and 1st the Betchworth Golf Club Pro Am in 2010 and had numerous other regional and local top 10 finishes.
Paul has benefited from over 12 years employment at Four Golf Clubs, and 3 years PGA training.
Paul has a wealth of knowledge that he is happy to pass on to his customers. This has made a vast difference to many of his customers enjoyment of the game over the years. Having the right swing and the right set of clubs is of paramount importance to Paul.
He is a firm believer in the teachings of the Professional Golfers Association.
Paul comes from a golfing family whereby his Father is also Fellow PGA Golf Professional.
Paul has attended Safe Guard And Protecting Children workshop and
Equity In Your Coaching workshop. Paul also has experience teaching children with additional support needs.
To teach experienced golfers Paul relies on his knowledge and observational skills to diagnose and treat any golfing ailments they may have and has a range of video equipment to assist him. Using teaching applications on his Ipad, Paul can determine where their problems lie and what needs to be worked on.
For beginners he prefers more hands-on tuition to ensure rapid progress to handicap level. His aim is to develop their skills and enjoyment of the game. To start with he makes sure that the basics are not only taught but thoroughly understood. The ability to strike the ball consistently well has to be mastered before progressing onto the golf course where a knowledge of rules and etiquette will be necessary for them to enjoy themselves in the company of other club members. Paul tries to teach every aspect of the game so that novice players can quickly become good golfers.
